Normal people like their dogs. New York people LOVE their dogs. You usually can’t go five feet without seeing a dog here in the city, and depending on what neighborhood you’re in, those dogs are usually pretty stylish. Sometimes I feel bad about my own clothes when I see little teacup yorkies with rhinestone collars and houndstooth jackets. Some of these dogs are treated like royalty, and this holiday season I have the perfect place to do some great holiday shopping for your pooch. LazyBonezz a trendy pet furniture & accessories store, was founded in 2008 by Adrienne Shamie & her daughter Lorraine Gold. Lorraine has described their products as “classic, cool, and chic.” They sell everything from pet beds, food bowls, collars, and storage boxes for your dog or cats toys. The best part about it all is that it’s tasteful. Sometimes I buy a bed or toys for my cat and they quickly fall apart. At LazyBonezz, their products are made out of wood, stainless steel, and nice plush fabrics guaranteed to be loved by your pet and last a long time.
Great news! LazyBonezz is opening their own pop-up shop here in the city! Usually their products could only be found on their website or in stores like Gracious Homes and Bed Bath and Beyond, but lucky for us they’ll be opening their first store on November 30th! It IS a pop-up shop though so unfortunately it will only be here until February, but it’s perfect timing for shopping season! Their store will feature 70 different new styles of pet essentials, ranging from $9.99 to $499. They’ll be located on the ground floor of 114 W.26th St between 6th & 7th Ave. Free delivery will be available for Manhattan residents. LazyBonezz is popular among celebrities too, with clients such as Denise Richards and Kelly Osbourne. I’m sure your pet is just as cute as any celebrities dog, so treat it to something special from LazyBonezz this holiday season! Happy shopping!

Of course, I’m going to have a soft spot for the Bayonne Bridge. It connects NJ with my hometown, a little exotic island you may have heard of. Well, this week it’s a very special day for the Bayonne Bridge – tomorrow, Nov 15th, it turns 80 years old! Once again, Dave Frieder, the infamous “Bridge Man”, sent me some spectacular pics & info on another of the city’s famous bridges. When the Bayonne opened in 1931, it was the longest steel arch bridge in the whole world! It was modeled after the Hell Gate Bridge, but unlike the Hell Gate, it uses suspender ropes to support it’s 4 lane road decks. Dave says in 2014, the bridge will undergo a major renovation to raise the road deck from 151 feet to 215 feet for more river clearance. Just like the Verrazanno and the GW Bridge, the Bayonne was designed by genius Othmar Ammann. Happy Birthday, Bayonne Bridge!
Come out to Bryant Park on Saturday, Nov. 12th for a full day of family friendly fun!
