NYC Paintball & Lazertag

paintballIt’s January. The holidays are over and we’re left with that post-christmas sadness. That means leftover christmas cookies and 14 degree weather. But, I found something to cheer us all up! Or at least, those of us who like PAINTBALL! I’ve only played paintball once before, but let me tell ya – it’s a lot of fun. Hidden inside a huge yellow building in Long Island City, Queens is the NYC Paintball and Lazertag Facility. It’s the ONLY indoor paintball place in the whole city, so it’s perfect and close! NYC Paintball has been featured in a bunch of magazines and was featured on NY1 TV channel. The facility is 27,000 sq. feet as a whole. It has one Giant field, which is 10,000 sq. feet, and three little ones ranging from 5-7,000 sq.feet. You can take your pick between an open field with everyone playing together, or a private field for just you and your friends. You can also make group reservations and plan birthday parties there! It’s fun to just put on a helmet, a jumpsuit (and of course a little extra padding) and run around the field for an hour or so. For those of you who don’t like the pain of the game, the facility has bleachers for spectators to enjoy the chaos on the field. Younger kids: your parents won’t let you play? Mama always knows best, but don’t you fret! NYC Paintball Facility also features Paintball Lazertag, the ONLY one in the whole world. It’s a game of Lazertag with a real paintball gun, except it’s mess and pain free! The most realistic simulation, an infared light is used instead of a paintball. The field rules are the same as a real paintball game. For kids 12 and under, you can plan a birthday party with your choice of Glow In The Dark or Regular. To get to the NYC Paintball and Lazertag Facility, take the 7 train to the 33rd Street/Rawson Stop. Once you’re off the train, turn to walk toward Queens Boulevard and head a few blocks down towards the big yellow building on your left. It’s located at 47-11 Van Dam. Tuesdays-Thursdays it’s $36, and Friday-Sunday it’s $42. Pricey, but worth it for a fun action packed day indoors! You can rent the equipment there. So, I hope some of you head over and check it out. Maybe I’ll pop by myself and challenge you to a game!
