20834_409923173029_604483029_4743650_1581589_nRemember last summer when we told you about Play Me, I’m Yours? There was a piano in each borough [some had two or three], out there in the open for anybody to sit down and play. I even sat down and fiddled on the piano on the South Beach boardwalk in Staten Island, [as seen in the picture!] Of course, like all great things, it came to an end. Luckily, it’s back with WAY more pianos and WAY more to offer. Sing For Hope is a non-profit organization that gathers professional artists [musicians, Broadway performers, and photographers] in volunteer service programs for schools, hospitals, and other things in the community. Until July 2nd, Sing For Hope is teaming up with Make Music New York to make Sing For Hope’s Pop-Up Pianos – where 88 pianos will be scattered across the five boroughs on streets, in parks, and on boardwalks for all New Yorkers to enjoy. Of course with a name like “Pop-Up” Pianos, how could we NOT write about it?! But I think the best part comes after the project is over, because Sing For Hope is donating all 88 pianos to local hospitals, organizations and [most importantly] schools. Their mission is to bring music and the arts to all New Yorkers, which I couldn’t support more. For a list of pianos near you, click here to see the map where you can click and view details on the piano of your choice. Now, go channel your inner Mozart or Billy Joel & rock out!

Now the best thing ever would be to hear Meagan sing while playing one of these pianos
